Model Catalogue Information

YEAR INFORMATION
2007 When first introduced onto the main line the Paxman-Valenta powered HSTs brought a new and distinctive excitement to high speed rail travel to the 1970s. Initially nicknamed “Flying Bananas” by rail enthusiasts because of the blue and yellow livery chosen for the power units, the HSTs soon epitomized what was said at that time as being “the age of the train”. In 1986 British Rail introduced a dramatically different Executive livery onto their High Speed Trains bringing a totally fresh look to the whole of the InterCity fleet and service. The Power Cars in this pack are fitted with headlights which illuminate in the direction of travel. Note that this train is only suitable to run on second radius curved track or greater.
