Model Catalogue Information

YEAR INFORMATION
2005 Officially named in 1927, the “Pines Express” was a passenger service which operated out of Manchester travelling South to Bourmemouth. During the journey the train would pick up and drop off coaches, as well as change engines. This was because the service travelled on rails of the various railway companies of the day. After the Second World War the service recommended but was eventually removed from the schedules in 1962. The Great British Train pack is reminiscent of those final days of the “Pines Express”, which once it had reached the Southern Railway lines, was pulled by a BR West Country Class locomotive on the last stage of its journey.
