Company Information: Burlington Railroad is synommous with earlier ties to the Quincey Railroad. The railroads main constituents include cities and states of the Mid-West from the Gulf coast in Texas to up to the Canadian border. Like many US railroads Chicago featured as its’ prominent hub. By 1934 luxury streamlined trains built by Budd Car Company pioneered diesel travel in the US by being introduced from Denver to Chicago. Later becoming the famed “Route of the Zephyr”, a name that has stuck to this day. The railroad as stand-alone entity was not feasible based from primarily passenger revenues. By 1970 the railroad was merged with the Great Northern and Northern Pacific Railroads. In-turn this conglomerate merged with Santa Fe, or the AT&SF by 1990.
