Model Catalogue Information

YEAR INFORMATION
1996 The 9F was British Railways standard heavy freight locomotive of which a total of 251 were built between the years 1954 and 1960. It was an extremely successful Riddles designed locomotive and although their key role was freight haulage they were often used to haul passenger stock. The dull black freight livery gives the Hornby example a sense of power and effectively contrasts with the shiny running gear. Powered by a tender mounted ringfield motor.
