1994 | The first figure of the running number 6 indicated the locomotive was formerly owned by the LNER and it is named after the Everton Football Club. Mr Frank Hornby, the originator of Hornby trains, was MP for Everton from mid 1931-1935. The model is tender powered by a Type 5 ringfield motor. |
1995 | The class was introduced in 1928 by Gresley. The batch built from 1936 were named after football clubs and army regiments. Eventually, after nationalisation these locomotives were liveried in BR green. Everton has incoporated into its tender a Type 5 ringfield motor which gives sterling performance when required. |
2002 | This Gresley designed locomotive, named after the Everton Football Club, incorporates the number '6' at the beginning of its running number, indicating that the locomotive was formerly owned by the LNER. It is also worthy of note that Mr Frank Hornby, the originator of Hornby trains was MP for Everton from 1931 -35. The model is tender powered with pickups on the tender and drive wheels. |
