Class Information: "Pug" was a term applied to many of the small non-descript shunting locomotives used across Britain and refers to their purposeful appearance. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries railways in Scotland did not have the traffic volume necessitating larger designs associated with British operations, as such Pug designs were quite prolific for both passenger and goods services. Model Catalogue Information

YEAR INFORMATION
1992 The prototype locomotive was built by the Caledonian Railways which became part of the LMS in 1923. This is a powerful little model with high performance motor.
1993 Originating back in 1897, members of the class were still at work 60 years later. The interesting model has a detailed cab interior with glazed windows and a network of separately fitted wire handrails. Powered byType 7 motor in SSPP chassis with traction tyres on the centre drivers.
1994 Whilst not, perhaps, being the prettiest engine in the Hornby range, the class 0F model is a useful workhorse with a good turn of speed. The footplate is of diecast metal for strength and stability. Powered by HP motor.
1995 Built for the Caledonian Railway these saddle tank locomotives saw service on many parts of the LMS network as short haul or shunting locomotives. The chassis is of die-cast material giving strength and stability while the Type HP motor gives a sprightly performance.
1996 Designed and built for the Caledonian these sturdy characters saw service in many areas of the LMS toiling away in sidings or pulling short haul trains. This sturdy example has a die-cast footplate which, because of weight, enables the locomotive to pull quite respectable loads without too much wheel slip. Fitted with HP type motor.
1997 Another sturdy locomotive that served the Caledonian Railway in sidings and for pulling short-haul trains, built in the period 1878 to 1908. Models diecast chassis gives it the weight to pull respectable loads with minimum wheel slip. Powered by a HP motor.
1998 Class 0F is presented here in the L.M.S. livery of the period 1929-1938, following the acquisition of the Caledonian Railway by L.M.S. in 1923. At that time it was used for shunting duties. These locomotives served with the L.M.S. and B.R. right through to 1962. Type 7 motor in a heavy diecast chassis.
